- Stow on the Wold Primary School, Gloucestershire (2000-2007)

Jaimie Sandles shows her artwork through the medium of computer drawing. And has had a broad range of experience in the past; ranging from portraits, animals and landscapes. And the mediums she uses can range from computer drawing, acrylic and oil painting, to mixed media and pencil drawing.

To create these artworks, she uses a graphics tablet and pen as well as a painting software. She feels that her most successful subject is Portraiture.

After completing a project at sixth form titled “Inner Conflict” it has always been an interest for Jaimie to combine portraiture and conflicts such as mental illness, and diseases of the mind. She therefore decided to go forward with a project titled “Identity” for her second year.

Her main interest is involved with everyone’s identities; how events may alter our identities, and how people express themselves/perceive others.

Alterations, deflections and distortion are key words and main components within Jaimie’s project. Internal factors that can change your identity was a subject that Jaimie felt she could respond to.

Henrietta Harris excels in creating semi realistic paintings concerning human subjects with distorted faces, with the main focus that their minds are incomplete; the sense of absence.

Taking on the attributes of her artwork, Jaimie juxtaposes the soft human skin tones with vibrant lines to create chaos and confusion. Similarly, she uses a soft coloured background to juxtapose with the confusing anomalies involved within the subject’s mind.
